"When we moved to the Portland metropolitan area it was important to us that our son be connected with other Jewish children and exposed to Judaism as part of his early childhood education. We were fortunate enough to be connected with Maayan Torah Day School and their early childhood education program Ilan Katan (Little Tree). Our son has been attending the Early Childhood program since he was 1 year old and will turn four this summer.
We are ecstatic that our young son is learning both English and Hebrew letters and words, picking up numerous critical skills, and being educated using evidence-based approaches to early childhood development that incorporates Judaism in all aspects. Maayan provides education that is warm, nurturing, and loving. When we had another child, we knew Maayan was the best place for our baby and enrolled him in the program as well.
We quickly learned that Maayan is more than a school but also a dedicated and supportive Jewish community that welcomes all Jewish families of all denominations."
